Á vefsvæði Gracipe getur notandinn umbreytt skrifaðri mataruppskrift yfir á myndrænt form með einum músarsmelli eða búið til myndræna uppskrift frá grunni.
Gracipe er sprotafyrirtæki sem sérhæfir sig í því að þróa hugbúnað til þess að búa til og birta uppskriftir á myndrænan hátt. Fyrirtækið hlaut verkefnisstyrk frá Tækniþróunarsjóði í desember 2014. Mataruppskriftir hafa verið birtar á sama hátt allt frá því að menn byrjuðu að skrifa hjá sér leiðbeiningar fyrir matargerð fyrir mörgum öldum síðan. Leiðbeiningarnar eru yfirleitt á texta eða lista formi. Þessi framsetning nýtir engar leiðir til þess að koma upplýsingunum á sem skýrastan hátt til notenda. Sem lausn á þessu vandamáli þá birtir Gracipe allar sínar uppskriftir á myndrænu formi sem auðvelt er að búa til á vefsvæðinu www.gracipe.com. ( Gracipe (The graphical recipe) is a startup that specializes in creating the tools for creating and presenting graphical food recipes. The startup just launched its web platform for the whole world to enjoy graphical recipes. Food recipes have been presented in the same way ever since humans started documenting food preparation information centuries ago. The instructions are either presented through text, lists and at most pictures. This makes reading and understanding recipes time consuming and difficult. In other words, regular recipes do not take advantage of any methods of conveying information in a way that is easy for humans to understand. As a solution to this problem, Gracipe presents its recipes in a single illustration that all users can create through a web/mobile application. The user can simply copy an existing food recipe into the Gracipe creator or make a new one from scratch.
The software transfers the recipe from a written text to an illustration that
is easy to understand. In that way Gracipe uses proven methods of presenting
complex information in a clear and a concise way. This new way of automatically
transferring written text to a graphical illustration is patent pending by Gracipe.
These graphical recipes can then be embedded into any food recipe website there
is and will in that way serve as an addition to the traditional written recipe.
The embedding is especially easy for Wordpress users who can find the Gracipe
plugin in the Wordpress plugin directory. The graphical recipes can be found at

has too much text, lacks overview and is hard to navigate. Being infographic
and visualization nerds we started thinking about better ways to present
recipes in a more user-friendly and easy format for the user.” says Marino
