QEF – Successful launching conference

Almost 200 people attended a successful launching conference on quality enhancement in Icelandic higher education, held on 18 October. A new Quality Enhancement Framework (QEF) was officially launched at the conference by the Minister of Education, Science and Culture, Svandís Svavarsdóttir (see her speech here). Keynote speakers were Prof. Thorolfur Thorlindsson, University of Iceland, and Ronald Piper, Senior Vice Principal, University of St Andrews. Furthermore, both Prof. Norman Sharp, chair of the Quality Board for Icelandic higher education, and Magnus Lyngdal Magnusson, secretary to the Quality Board, introduced the main elements of the new Quality Enhancement Framework.
